She’d already committed to memory the impressive width of his chest; the salt and pepper hair which was smattered there; the way that hair tapered and disappeared beneath the waistband of his trousers.

Sweet dreams for Elsie!!! Hopefully Carson will make a full recovery sooner rather than later and who knows perhaps someday she'll start using that key for other reasons. ;)

I know, I know. Give you time. Give them time. It's such a sweet relationship between them but oh how I wish they could find a way to take something for themselves. *sigh*

This could be a prequel to my 'cottage' fics. He makes a full recovery but everyone insists he retires and they live happily ever after in a cottage on the estate. :)

I'm sure they'll get more selfish then. Hee.

You tease! And here I thought it was another kind of steamy! Here the hotness was literal since the poor dear is ill once again. Still, wasn't that a sight for sore eyes? I bet Elsie will have very welcomed dreams now.
However, I really love the sweetness between these two. They really are like an old married couple - even though they still haven't confessed their love to each other. So much love for the last line.

Well, Carson's chest was supposed to be a little steamy! LOL

I sort of imagine them like my other OTP, Adama/Roslin, never having to confess their love. I think it would just become obvious after a while from their actions and the way they treat each other.

And I must have some sort of weird kink, because I love their old married couple feel. ♥

I'm glad you liked the wayward lock of hair, because that's pretty much all I had and wrote the rest around that! LOL I know we compare Mrs Hughes's strict style to Phyllis Logan's, but I've become almost fascinated with the way they alter Jim Carter's thick hair! It does appear a little more 'natural' though whenever he's caught in his pjs in season 2. :)
