For Clark: SuperAnna!
Sep 18, 2007 12:22
Anna
leads Clark through
a handy-dandy Nexus portal into her living room.
The front door to her apartment is looking distinctly unwell.
In the way where the doorknob is lying crumpled on the floor, dented with what appear to be finger-marks.

"Yeah. Thanks, cheri."
Anna hugs him close and kisses him on the cheek.
"Je t'aime," she adds softly, because she can.

Clark just smiles a little at that.

Oddly enough, Anna's relieved.
This close she could tell if he were made in any way uncomfortable by that statement, and he wasn't.
Today that is good enough for her.
That and a whole lot of snuggling, anyways.

And Clark is relieved she didn't seem to get upset that he didn't say it back.

On the whole, then, lots of relief going around.
And... well, it has been a number of days and she has managed to pass it all without breaking anything...
A little tentatively, Anna kisses him.

Just as tentatively, she is kissed back.
Although he can't help but feel like this is almost like starting all over again.

Anna isn't sure what she feels like.
(Apart from the obvious - and look, she's not setting anything on fire! Handy, that.)
She is sure of what she's doing, however.
Some things leave little room for doubt.

The lack of fire is appreciated. And also relieving. Clark relaxes a little and slides his arms tighter around her waist.

This engenders quiet delight.
In return, she goes for that spot on his jaw again.
Anna's beginning to turn into a bit of a one-trick makeout pony.
But hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It's not broke.
At least, Clark doesn't appear to be faking the tilt of his head and his eyes fluttering closed.

Anna knows damn well he's not faking it.
He won't be faking his reaction to the next thing she tries, either.
She knows that from past experience.

No, he definitely won't.
But those doubts are starting to return.
"Anna..." It's barely a whisper.

She chuckles.
"Ye-es?"
It's possible that at some point Anna should learn to play fair.
The day has not yet come, however.

"Maybe we should..."
Give him a minute.
"...slow down."

"Why?" she purrs, in between kisses to the side of Clark's neck.
Yes, she knows.
She just wants to see if she can prevent him from actually saying it.

He rests his forehead on her shoulder.
"Things are just... different."
