It's Sunday, which means Anna has a day off today.

This is good, because after helping herself to some free flowers last night, she's... shall we say... disinclined to get up.

Incapable of it, one might say.

She's also running quite the fever, and it's rather lucky all things considered that people in comas are not, on the whole, given to

nexus, clark

Clark has managed to at least get some water into her. He's also found one lone flower and whether it's the culprit or not, it gets heat visioned mercilessly ( ... )

The fire comes and goes, a familiar sight, a familiar sound. Anna opens her eyes and stretches.

"Dammit. How long was I out this time, cheri?"

"A few days," Clark informs her, settling on the edge of the bed beside her. "Figured there wasn't any point in dragging you back to a doctor, so I just kept you here until I decided to do something about it."

"Decided to..."

Oh.

Oh.

"...okay."

Anna is not quite sure how to react to this.

He shrugs. "It was getting to be a bit of a pain getting water down your throat. This was easier."

She wasn't certain whether he'd gotten a healthy dose of Red K or just of common sense, though she was disinclined to hope too hard for the latter.

Now she is.

"Fair enough," she says, thoughts racing. In her experience Kal and people do not mix. "Well, I'm better now, right? And like you said, I'm pretty sure 'I was in a coma' is an acceptable excuse for missing work."

"I called in for you. Viv was upset, wanted to come by, but I talked her out of it. Anyway, she said she'd cover for you and not to worry, just to get better." Clark smiles when he's finished, like a small child expecting praise for a job well done on eating all their vegetables.

How can she not respond to that smile?

She loves that smile.

"Smooth going, mon cher," says Anna, laughing brightly and giving him a kiss.

Dammit, she'll deal with the obvious Scorcher-induced personality changes when and if he starts really acting up.

(It doesn't occur to her that whatever version of the stuff he's got here won't have come in liquid form - that he must be carrying it about his person somehow. She's too used to waiting out the Scorcher.)

There's another grin after the kiss. He did a good job!

"Oh, there was a flower left sitting around. I got rid of it, so no more comas, okay?"

"No more comas. Awesome. You did good, cheri."

Anna kisses him again. He's just so cute.

Kissing is more than acceptable.

"And you're not going to be stupid enough to take something out of the Nexus again, right?"

"I'll do my best to resist," she murmurs wryly between kisses.

Resisting is not always something she's good at.

He should know.

"Well, unless it makes something fun happen."

"Define fun," Anna whispers in his ear.

Remember that spot on his jawline?

The one that's so much fun to nibble?

Well, she's rediscovered it.

"Well," he starts, voice going soft and low, "there was something once that made people naked all the time."

"Really," she says, chuckling, and draws a leisurely path of kisses to the hollow at the base of his throat.

"That," she continues as she travels back up, "sounds... interesting."
