Normally, Eight-Hour's front door doesn't open into a cave.
A lot of things, however, are abnormal about this situation.

"Please. You think I don't know what just this," he squeezes her arm tightly, "does for you? We've both been enjoying ourselves. I don't see what the problem is. Your promise doesn't mean anything to me anymore."

He keeps stroking her hair as he speaks, voice soft. "He doesn't like you for who you are, you know. Look at everything he wants you to change, just for him. Make you into a whole new person he thinks is good enough."
Then he leans in to whisper, "I like you just the way you are."

"Stop with this he bullshit," comes the defiant murmur. "You're not a different person just because you're on drugs. So what if you'll feed my addiction when you're like this? That's not important. It's not asking me to change, not hurting me - asking me to break a promise is."

She's on firmer ground now. Logical arguments she can deal with. They're abstract. And therefore a good distraction from the dripping wet, naked, incredibly attractive man who is practically pleading to have wild and violent sex with her while, incidentally, she is also dripping wet and naked.

She's not certain of that, as it happens. But it is a general trend, and saying it will help keep her promise.
