[ She could get him to change his mind so easily, if she wanted. Tonight, though, she can't try it. It's not that she won't: that "I need to learn how to do this by myself" was torn away when both real and unknown monsters started sneaking out of every shadow. She can't do this, and he's the only one she can really look to.

But she knows someone will know, and that opens up another danger, for both of them. She's not going to get punished for something that isn't wrong, and she's not letting someone get at him because of her. It can't happen again. But this... ]
