Distinctions like that are so stupid, and are really quite meaningless.

I swear I've heard another term used for the very reasons you've mentioned, but I can't remember it now.

They're often just referred to as "attendants", which we might do as well. I just don't like calling her "matron" is all. :D

Ridiculous wedding traditions are ridiculous. (And if this is the sort of post you'd put under a "wedding filter", add me, please)

I also applaud you wholeheartedly for the lack of wedding cake, which is almost always an abomination.

Wes can't eat cake, and I've never liked cake, so. Off it went. My mom is concerned about the whole cake-cutting thing, but, hey. We can still feed each other pie, right?? :D

Heh. We just called them honor attendents, seeing as my male friend and I stood in as equals at my friend Roxy's wedding.
