I'm sorry for your loss. I think that your actions were entirely reasonable, but I can see how in retrospect there is plenty of scope for guilt-laden thoughts of the 'could have, should have, would have' sort. But you're not psychic, and from what I've read, on Sunday or even last night, I'd have been betting quite heavily that he was going to be fine without urgent intervention from a vet.
My deepest sympathies. It's so sad when a beloved companion passes on. So often dogs don't show serious symptoms until it is too late and even if you'd gotten him to the vet earlier, he may have been beyond help given how quickly it progressed. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Remember him at his best and allow yourself to grieve. Our thoughts are with you.
I'm so sorry to hear this. He was a lovely dog and I will miss him too. Please don't beat yourself up about not taking him to the vet - we all make the choices we think best, and I suspect his time was coming with or without intervention. Take care of yourself.
