Ok, what if the next 3 seasons of Lost follow the future Losties (for all we know, only Jack/Kate) going back to the island for what ever reason. Obviously getting off the island was a mistake and Jack is desperate to go back. Maybe something needs to be fixed or the destiny laid out for them needs to be fulfilled or people need to be saved. It was a flashforward instead of the usual flashback that they show. Make of that what you will.

It'll be weird if for some reason, Jack/Kate go back to the island but end up in an earlier time period, and, unable to get off the island, they die together and end up as those two skeletons back in season 1.

Jack was in miserable shape... the whole episode was pretty mind-blowing, and I know I definitely need to go back and watch it again. I want to know why getting off the island was such a mistake, since he was so desperate to get off it in the first place. He's obviously living in squalor, and has a drug addiction to boot.

I like the idea of the next 3 seasons following the future losties trying to get back to the island... Jack obviously had all those maps laid out, and is hellbent on trying to find the island again.

As for the "he" being Sawyer... that's what I'm hoping. :)

Sorry for the rambling comment, but it's just awesome to discuss this show. :D

By all means! This show is meant to be talked about.

I think this was the first time I've really been interested in a Jackback- er, forward- because he was so messed up. It was different from his previous emoness over his wife or his dad or whatever was getting him down. Something went wrong, something so tremendous to affect him in this way, and I too really want to know what happened.

Too bad we have to wait so long...

I don't think this idea is stupid at all.
I mean, this season finale was supposed to end with a game changer, and leaving the island would definitely be a game changer.

Jack and Kate didn't end up together. I'd like to call that a victory in itself.
