...A simple "yes" or "no" would be enough.

[In hindsight, he should have expected her to continue giving out something vague when questioned. And of course, there's that contract she keeps mentioning again. Much as he wants to know about it though, Minato needs to hear about the end deal of his first.]

[Hearing it confirmed that he'll die hits him hard, like a bullet. He almost doesn't want to hear more, but...he steels himself. This is something he can't hide from anymore, and it sounds like the situation's a lot more complicated than him simply dying.]

[Nothing can describe what he's feeling now. Between the confirmation of his fate, the complications behind it, what will befall the world if he refuses, it all feels unreal. Eventually it will all sink in.

But for now...for now, all he feels is Liz's eternal devotion.]

[Indeed. Minato returns the hug all too gladly. If it were anyone else, he would have just stood there like a doll, at a loss of how to respond at being the comforted one. But Liz...he loves her. Hearing how devoted she truly is, touched his dissonant heart. And it makes him want to express just how much he does. Which is why he's now kissing her with more passion than he can remember.]
