Two Linux Distros To Avoid

I used to be an Amiga user. Then Comodore went under and my old Amiga A1200/B1260 slowly got older and older. It couldn't be upgraded as vendors went under or turned to other platforms. Fedora doesn't natively support MP3 because there are patents on the file format, and a commercial company like RedHat could get in trouble by distributing MP3-playing software without paying royalties. You can enable a non-RedHat repository, and get the non-free plugins (like MP3) from them.

I've no idea why Flash doesn't play for you; I run F20, and it worked fine for me after installing the plugin from Adobe. Opening terminal windows and installing software worked fine too; not sure what was going on your your system.

In other news... my winter house-sit was cancelled, as the owner can't leave due to heart problems. So, this week I have to spend a lot of time finding a place to live until spring! Unfortunately, that means that I'll have less time to look at rescuing your HD. *sigh*
