Oh this is an awesome picspam and review honey! JOY! \o/
I can really only say YES, YES and YES... because... well.... YES... *BG*
The boys happy faces over Samuel's journal may well have been my favourite moment. SO brotherly and perfect.
And Damn Jensen was Super HOT dressed like that.
And Sammy's understanding of what it means to be a hunter. This is not the same boy who told Dean to "let him go" once the YED was killed in S1.
And Cas... oh Cas... drunk on soul power, Hmmmm... interesting. I wonder if they'll parallel this with Sam being "drunk" on demon blood. A means to an end... but is the means worth it?
I think the potential story line with Cas is very exciting.
Also.. I think our brotherly boys are here to stay. It would make no sense to have them at complete odds with each other again so soon. I think even if (when?!) Sam's wall is shattered they'll stay together. Of course, no idea how they're going to handle that - just have to be patient I suppose.
This was a picspam of JOY. <3 Editing screencaps is such a good way to remember the moments that stood out for me. Adjusting those color curves with a big grin on my face. Hee
( ... )
OMG EVERYTHING YOU SAID! Especially the historical Campbell photo wall and the boys geeking out over Sam Colt's journal and Dean's adorable face there! I loved all these little bits and pieces.
But the NON TIMEBO MALA! Crap, you have amazing eyes!
This ep really hit me in the "SPN geekery" place, along with everything else. They knew exactly what they were doing there!
SEPIA!
LOL, I flailed so much over the journal, all the books and old writings and Samuel Colt was great, that's going to be Dean and Sam in 30-40 years. GO AWAY WE'RE RETIRED! NO WAIT WE'RE NOT, WE HAVE TO GO KILL A WEREWOLF. DAMMIT.
Now I want fic about the adventures of Samuel Colt.
UNF. Dean. When I thought the hotness couldn't take any more leaps.
Cas and Dean together are creating this, Dean's issues and Castiel's issues tripping over each other in a complementary way, but it seems like the burden does fall on Dean to reach out. He's human and is better at navigating emotion. Dean shows how he feels more through action than words, and he hasn't been in a position to save Castiel in a big way, not the way Castiel has saved him. But in the headspace Castiel is in now, words would help too. Castiel might be puzzled at the idea that Dean thinks he needs affirmation, "of course I already know that, Dean," but there's a limit to how much Castiel doesn't *need* certain affirmations in human terms, he is lonely, he is fighting an impossible battle, he is exhausted and spiraling down into something regrettable, and he's internalized a human viewpoint more and more.
