Endings are hard. There are always loose ends.
There wasn't time to tell you that fifteen seconds after Sam fell, Lucifer vacated his body and God dropped Sam into the woods of Wisconsin. Couldn't make things too easy, struggle is the life's blood of story after all.
There wasn't time to tell you that it took Sam six hours to hike out, and a few days to track down Dean.
There wasn't time to tell you that Sam walked right up to Lisa's door and knocked, and that not too long after that, Castiel realized that heaven was very boring.
