Babe, you've got to get to the good stuff. I don't know how spoiled you are for seasons to come, but the sooner you get there the better. There are some cast changes, which change the dynamic for the better, IMHO. Hotch will steal your heart and soul TOTALLY (Oh Hotch!! is now my default comment).
The sooner you make your way through to season 5 the better. I warn you though, this show lends itself to obsession.
I think I first lost it when they took her out to look at the moon and Gideon's doing...what he's doing. Just amazing. But the ending, I just couldn't stop crying through that.
Hee - so delighted to see you being sucked into my favourite show and watching you discover all the bits that make us love it so. We've just passed 100 eps now, so plenty for you to look forward to too. :D
"Riding the Lightning" was an exceptionally moving episode, but yes watching CM can be emotionally draining - it's not a 'light' show by any means, but then it is a show about catching serial killers and it treats its subject seriously.
And yet there's plenty to smile about mixed in there too. Especially with the little team moments - these guys like and care about each other, and it shows. :D
As for the rest? Oh yes, there's plenty more outstanding eps like that one, and really very few outright clunkers, and IMO the show has got even stronger as it's progressed. I'm not naming eps 'cos I don't want to influence you, but don't rush through them 'cos we we're just as happy to wait and re-watch with you. ;)
BTW, Hotch is stealing my soul piece by piece, and doing it all quiet-like.
HAHAHAHA!!! It sneaks up on you, and then there comes the day when you realize that this uptight, stern, SRS BZNS dude is MADE OF AWESOME. And you want to hug him and feed him cookies and try to make him smile.
Hotch!!! Yeah, I didn't expect that the first few eps and then Hotch sort of EMERGED. I have a thing for sekrit badasses.
I liked him walking the plane while they're all (we thought) asleep, and he finds JJ isn't, and he tells her to go to sleep. Aw. And so, of course, I have a thing about who looks after Hotch? (Especially if it's Gideon).
Ah yes, who looks after Hotch indeed. I'm happy to say that the team looks after each other -- and it gets better and stronger in that aspect as the show continues. But there is also no question that Hotch is the mommy of the team (and sometimes the dad) when it's needed. And he's not too good at admitting that maybe HE needs a little something sometimes. Gideon was pretty good at stepping up on those rare occasions, and later on there have been other team members giving some extra support. But still... He kinda reminds me of Dean only with less woobie moments. (But still just as effective as getting to you and making you want to mother the heck out of him). The best thing about CM for me, however, is that I like ALL the team members, even while I do have some favorites. Really, if I had to list my TV shows in order of favs, I'd say that SPN is my favorite fictional drama, and CM is my favorite procedural, and I cannot say that I have only one absolute fav show. Shows like Castle, Burn Notice, Leverage, etc I love too,
( ... )
In three weeks, I've managed to watch the first three seasons of Criminal Minds and am halfway through the fourth season. "Addicting" doesn't even begin to cover it.
I doubt I'll get through it that fast, but I am moving along at a good clip with it. (When I netflix, I tend to have more than one show going at once so that slows it down...Band of Brothers needs to be watched asap, or so I have been informed. Plus I'm working my way through Psych).
CM *is* addictive, though. Now I can't imagine my TV landscape without it.
