The great detective and caving in to a meme

The day they invent LJ-Sec that runs on a Mac I will squeal for joy. There's nothing like going back to my old PC laptop to do a task to make me appreciate how sleek and light my lovely macbook is. I have drunk the kool-aid--I ♥ my macbook.

This meme looked like fun. Grokked from bunches of people:

Sure! I had done a lot of research on chinooks for this, and wound up throwing most of that out. Originally I was going to set it during a chinook. As it stands, it still could be, except I think I backed off of that and made it instead the rains that come in spring. During chinooks, some people get restless, nervous, or jumpy and I thought what if it affected Ellen that way, have her holding it together even though there was an external (almost mystical) force putting her right on the edge.

Hee. I did a lot of research into paper mache, but the fruits of that never made it into the fic. Neither did just how much Chuck knows about all the different Dune movie versions. :D

Brett, Brett, Brett!

A stalled project of mine is a read/reread of the complete Strand stories, but well...

So, I mean RDJ and Law can certainly deliver, but it's not just about their portrayals. Hmm.

Brett!!

I so need to reread those stories. I've got a Complete Sherlock Holmes, with the Sidney Paget illos, around here somewhere...*eyes piles of books dubiously*

Of course! *g*

While writing Chasing Normal, I started to think about the difficulties of being the spouse or SO of a superhero--if said spouse wasn't also a hero themselves, but had a regular job and took care of the kids, was the one waiting and worrying. So I had a discarded idea about Mrs. Janitor finding out about this sooper sekrit coffee klatch of superhero spouses who would meet up and commiserate and offer each other advice. A support group for superhero spouses. mtgat pointed out the secret identity problem with this. I suppose it could be done if they themselves wore disguises to the meetings, so it might be clear which hero they were married to or dating, but no clues to the civilian identity. Anyway, I think this was a bit of unspoken backstory on Mrs. Janitor--the ways HER life was turned upside-down by her husband suddenly getting super powers.

Thank you for asking! :)
