Upcoming Changes, a Poll and a Clarification

Jan 22, 2008 14:03

Thanks so much to everybody who filled out the feedback poll. We've had some time now to discuss internally all the ideas that were put forward. We went over the pros and cons of each one, keeping in mind everything you said was awesome as it is, and then we had a vote to see which suggestions the majority of us were fond of, or at least willing to ( Read more... )

Yeah, pretty much. :)

I am completely addicted to this poll. Now that Bandom's Sexiest has been crowned, I obviously needed a new poll to refresh constantly, so I made one!

The changes seem like they'll be really useful - thanks, guys! I love this newsletter.

I am remaining impartial. :) But I do hope the changes prove useful. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

ignoring the fact that I had to read lj faq to figure out what those meant based off a quick read, i vote ?style=mine

the changes seem helpful!

Sorry for the lack of explanation, I often forget that not everyone is familiar with all of LJ's various idiosyncrasies.

In case the FAQ wasn't sufficiently detailed, ?format=light works the same way for everyone and always shows the page like so. By contrast, ?style=mine works differently depending on your own settings. If you are not logged in, it does nothing at all. If you are logged in and your account level allows you to set entry pages to show up in the style of the rest of your journal and you opt into that, then ?style=mine will cause other people's entry pages to also be shown in your journal's style. If you don't have that option enabled or you have a free account, then ?style=mine will render other people's entry pages in the default page style, like this page.

Sorry, that became verbose, and since you already did research, you probably knew all that already.

Thanks for the feedback, I too think the changes will be good. :)
