Oh, see, I failed to understand that even in poly, a man's status is based on his woman's sexual behavior! If a man can't satisfy his woman (read: control her) while fucking other women himself, all the other men in the village will laugh at him. If she's "taking all comers"* -  omigod, they might make him go live in the menstrual hut or something.
