Well, is he actually a licensed, educated therapist or a "life coach" who took some classes of dubious nature on the weekend? And if he's the former, I wouldn't be surprised if he was this screwed up; there's a reason why attending counseling is a requirement in your education process.

I agree. Until I know for a fact that an individual actually possesses a PhD or a PsychD then all claims of being a "counselor" or "therapist" are met with healthy doses of skepticism.
