I present for your amusement:

The Dorkie. Which really does quite a good job of not only describing the dog, but how one should feel if one pays over $100 for one.

The Boxador. Hey! Let's combine the bounciness of a boxer with the hyperactivity of a lab! Yeah! That's the best idea ever!!

Ah, DogBreedInfo.comI love how you present mutts as ( Read more... )

Ah, just what everyone needed, a hyper-aggressive terrier mix. Add one to your family with small children today! Oh, it's so small, it's cute when she growls and snaps at people and other dogs. OH MY GOD GET YOUR EVIL PIT BULL AWAY FROM MY BABY!!!!!!111

Idiots.

Funny how much they look like the many mutts that come through the shelter's doors.

It actually says at the top of the page pretty clearly (and in bold) that they are not “pure breed” but a mix of this and this. And goes on to say that you should investigate both breeds before making a choice on a mix of them.

So, I guess I'm not totally sure how they are "presenting mutts as legitimate breeds" when they actually state, in bold, at the top of the page that they are not a breed and are a "mix breed"?

I wondered that. On their hybrid page, they explain that hybrids (AKA Designer Dogs) are a cross, and that you may or may not get any or all of the characteristics of each breed, and there is no way to know for sure.

Personally, I'd rather they badmouth hybrids in general, and explain why it can be a bad thing, rather than claiming that you get less chances for certain hereditary problems, but all in all, it's better than some pages who seem to think they ONLY dog to get is a hybrid.

Why would anyone breed a beutiful, intelligent, clownish, sweet, drooly, agile, loving boxer with a hyper, awful, dumb lab?

Obviously, I'm not even a little bit biased :p

(hehe, j/k. I like labs okay, too)
