It is no longer safe for the King to live. He is a threat to the stability of our country and the peace we have fought for. His words cannot be trusted, it will be better for the nation if he dies. Yet, who am I to determine the fate of a man?

As for Thomas Rainsborough, his plans would ruin us: all men to have the same. How can we govern a country by following the ideas of the Levellers? We need the support of those who have wealth. It is no longer safe for the Colonel to live.

This is a really interesting look into Oliver's mind. The series intrigued me by showing Cromwell as a person, not just a power-mad usurper, and you've used that very well here.

I really like the progression from the humility and social conscience of the first paragraph, "who am I to determine the fate of a man?" to the more determined pursuit of power in the second. Thanks for playing!
