Great second chapter! Loved Kahlan's devious mind. She's already planning on getting someone close to her that she can trust.

"She would have to address the problem of disgust sometime in the future." - Heh. Yes, Kahlan, you'll have to figure that out, won't you?

And, of course, biting into the apple - all sorts of connotations there.

I imagine we'll see Alice coming on the scene very soon.

That came to me all by itself. I wouldn't have thought of it... but Kahlan chose to try an apple. Guess she and Darken have yet one more thing in common. :D
And Kahlan with an apple making devious plans - it felt right.

Alice - don't know how soon, but we sure see her sometime in the future.))

The story is VERY long! Not sure if I can manage but I certainly hope so.

Yay! Lovely chapter :D The apple imagery is really fascinating - both that Kahlan and Darken might pick the same fruit, and then the Bible reference - that she's planning to leave behind her innocence...

It would be the end of everything if she accidently cried out the wrong name. I love this glimpse of Kahlan's wry sense of humor at the situation - that is, her plight is completely serious, of course, but you show her scheming wonderfully :D
