Illyana Rasputin lay on her side on Victor’s bed, one hand resting on her hip, blonde hair falling like a silky waterfall across her face as she smiled at him. “Before you try to tear my head off, hear me out.” She sat up, leaning forward with that smirk still in place. “I have something you want.”
“A stick to put your head on?” Victor asked, tending to spring.
“I was thinking more along the lines of Jean-Paul Beaubier,” she drawled.
Victor’s stomach dropped, and his jaw clenched. “What-”
“I want Megan,” the Russian girl said, answering before the boy could finish asking his question. “Just a few moments alone. Give me that, and I can give you him for as long as you want.”
“No chance in hell,” Victor snapped. This just made her laugh, a cold an unnatural sound, and she teleported away before Victor could take a swipe at her, leaving the smell of brimstone behind her.
