Ukitake looked at the little white ceramic bottle sitting beside him with a mixture of annoyance and resignation. Years of poor health had lead to years of pouring every potion and concoction the doctors would come up with down his throat. He should have been used to it by now, but there were days when he wanted to take the medicine and dump it into the privy.
Sometimes, it felt like it would do as much good there as it would going into his body, and it certainly couldn’t have hurt the taste of some of these potions he was forced to choke down.
With a sigh, Ukitake delicately picked up the bottle, opened his mouth, and tried to get as much of the medication down as he possibly could without tasting it.
