“Why do I have to show this guy around?” Mirah Guthrie demanded of her cousin. “He’s your friend.”
“Because you owe me for not telling your parents about having to get you out of jail,” Sean Cassidy-Guthrie explained. “Anyway, I think spending a little time with Dramari’ll be good for you.”
“What the hell kind of name is ‘Dramari’, anyway?”
“He’s an Inhuman. They have names like that. Now stop fussing and don’t embarrass your species.”

“I thought all you guys were supposed to have powers and stuff.”
“Generally, yes,” Dramari confirmed. “But I have chosen to remain as I was born.” He bit the end off a jalapeno and cream cheese taquito, as that was what the human girl had recommended eating during their little tour of her Kentucky home town. “I have nothing beyond what I can do myself.”
“Why would anyone want to be ordinary?” Mirah asked, looking at the Inhuman with a puzzled expression.
“How am I ordinary?” Dramari asked in return. “There is no one just like me. I am unique.” He sighed, gulping down his Icee. “Everyone is unique. I just seem to be the only one who realizes this. And nobody ever seems to get the power they want, when they get it. My sister wanted scales, and one of the greatest artists I have ever seen spends much of his time sunk in self pity because he wanted to be a warrior.” He rolled his eyes. “It is… ridiculous. This wanted of things you cannot have. If more people could just be happy in their own skins…” The prince shook his head, watching Mirah as she walked a few steps ahead of him.
“At least you had a choice.”
