Monet sat down and started trying to comb the mud out of her hair with her fingers. Jubilee flopped down on the now deserted river bank beside her, eyes turned to the sky, which had once again assumed its normal, blue hue. “No one,” she said, “is ever gonna believe how we saved the world.
Monet grunted, still combing her hair with her fingers and glaring at nothing in particular.
“You have got to switch toothpastes,” Jubilee went on, running her tongue over her teeth. “Cause whatever you’re using tastes nasty.”
“Nobody ever finds out about this,” Monet growled. “Do you understand me? No one is to ever know.”
“You think I want anyone to know that I had to kiss you to save the world? Thank you, no.”
