Molly was getting used to waking up with Klara curled up next to her. Klara got cold at night, and Molly was the one she trusted to sleep near.
The girl didn’t really mind all that much. It was a bit like having that puppy she’d always bugged her parents about getting for her, back before everything got insane. And it was just so nice to have someone her own age to talk to, even if Klara kept lapsing into German when she got really excited, and she had all these lame ideas about what was appropriate and what wasn’t. Molly as teaching her different, little by little.
It was also nice to be able to be so physically close to someone. Klara was warm and cuddly and smelled sweet, like the flowers she grew. Everyone else didn’t like it when she wanted to stay with someone during the night, but Klara came to her.
Unfortunately, Klara drooled a little in her sleep.
“Ew! Klara, that’s soooo gross!” Molly complained. “We gotta get you a heated blanket or something.”
Klara murmured sleepily and rolled away, pulling her legs up to her chest. She’d be back up against Molly in an hour or so, and it would go on like that until morning.
Molly was okay with that.
