Molly sprawled beside Klara, more than half asleep as the other girl combed her fingers through Molly’s hair. Klara picked out a flower and braided it into Molly’s locks, noting that the young mutant was getting more than a bit shaggy. Molly watched her through half closed eyes and yawned as Klara continued the process. “You should try going without hats more often,” Klara said.
“I like my hats,” Molly yawned, stretching as she did so.
“I like your hats too, Molly,” Klara replied. “They’re very nice. Very… you,” she added, borrowing the two words from a conversation she’d overheard between Xavin and Karolina about Molly and her hats.
“Mm-hm.” Molly closed her eyes. “But the flowers are nice, too.”
“You look nice with the flowers,” Klara agreed.
“Show me how to make a flower crown thingie.” Molly sat up, watching Klara expectantly. The black haired girl sighed softly, reaching for some daisies. This was the fourth time she’d shown Molly how to do this, and she very much doubted that this would be the last time.
“Alright, watch me…”
