“My parents terrify everyone,” Becca pointed out. “They’re very scary people. Helps me weed out the less serious ones.” She looked up, grey eyes dark as she watched him.
“Well, I am serious.” Wally kissed the tip of Becca’s nose. “Just so you know.”
“I know.” She went back to leaning her head on his shoulder. “Sentinals burn so prettily, don’t they?”
“Like big Christmas trees,” Wally agreed.
