In the end, it wasn't so much being sick that scared him as not knowing what would come next. It was the not knowing that was really the worst part.
He remembered everything going away.
He remembers nothingness.
And then there had been something that he couldn't remember. The more philosophical part of him said that whatever it was, it was something a living human mind was not meant to comprehend.
A younger part of him said that he heard his mother's voice.
Then Jamie Madrox woke up in the body of one of the healthy dupes.
And he remembered.
