“Ow!” Victor rubbed the back of his head and turned to glare at Chase. “What was that for?” he demanded.
“Hurting Nico.” The blond crossed his arms over his chest and glared right back. “I cannot believe you would do something so… so boneheaded.”
Victor continued to rub the back of his head, saying nothing as he looked away and tried to think of where the nearest exit was. He really didn’t want to get into this with Chase. Not now, or ever.
“Don’t you have anything to say for yourself?”
Victor shook his head. “If I try to explain, it’ll only make things worse,” he said.
Chase laughed, thought it wasn’t really a laugh. “I really don’t think that’s possible, Vic.”
