Victor sat down cross-legged across from Ryan, settling his posture so that he was eye-to-eye with the red haired boy. “Your mom promised me that you were going to behave yourself.”
Ryan folded his arms across his chest. “Mom told me she was taking me to the Zoo. Looks like we’re both gonna be disappointed.”
“I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work that way. But I offer you this - as soon as it opens, we go to the Aquarium. Sound good?”
Ryan scratched his ear, tucking some strawberry blond hair out of the way. “Pizza after?”
“Hamburgers,” Victor countered. “I know your mom wants you to ease up on the pizza. And there will be non-fried vegetables involved.”
“Deal.”
