Wanda sat at the battered table and watched the storm raging outside. It made the windows rattle, and water crept in through the cracks. The mug of tea in her hands had long since grown cold, but she didn't care.
Inside the Brotherhood house, things were unusually quite. The boys were out doing something stupid. Pietro had invited Wanda along, but she just wasn't in the mood for breaking things tonight.
The quiet was broken as the kitchen door opened with a squeak. Wanda turned, watching Todd as he stood in the door, water dripping from his hair and clothes. He hesitated, glancing over his shoulder, then to Wanda. The girl considered for a moment, then nodded. Todd's pale face lit up in a smile as he cheerfully hopped in. He pulled a cracked glass from the cabinet, then dumped what was left of the pot of tea in and hopped over to the table. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it again as he saw Wanda arch an eyebrow.
So they drank their cold tea in silence as the storm raged outside.
