Leading psychologists say that real love is a fortifier and a restorer of sanity, a balm for damaged egos, a restorer of hormone balance, and an improver of the complexion. --- Robert Sheckly

Love, Victor decided as he watched Sofia and Julian walk by, sucks. It sucks mightily. He dropped his eyes back to the play he was studying, ignoring David and Noriko as they tried and failed to concentrate on their homework.

In his head, he was doing the math for what was likely the hundredth time. Statistically, about one in ten people identified as homosexual or bisexual. One hundred and twenty-eight students, divided by ten... theoretically, there would be 11 or 12 other gay students at Xavier’s. Assuming half were girls, that meant that in theory there were at least four boys who shared his preference running around. So, why couldn't he seem to find them?

It was frustrating. Everyone around him seemed to be hooking up, and he was alone.
Was it because he was green and hairless? His mom had always told him he was handsome, but that was what moms did. What they said didn't have to be true.

Max threw himself down next to Victor. "Hey Vic."

"Hey, Max."

"You got plans tonight?"

"Nope. You?"

"Bubba-hotep and Brisco bootlegs. Wanna watch with me?"

"Sure. Sounds like fun."

Victor totally missed the smile that flashed across Max's face. "Cool."
