Cassie Lang misses her friends.
She misses how close they were before the Registration Act, when they would sometimes get together just to hang out. Before Goliath was killed, and before Billy was put in the Negative Zone.
Billy hasn’t said a word to her since he was registered. In fact, he hasn’t said a word to anyone. When he sees Cassie, he just glares at her and leaves the room. He actually destroyed all the light bulbs within twenty feet of him one time he saw Tony.
Teddy’s a little better. He talks… but he doesn’t treat her the same. He doesn’t let Cassie get close, and not even his shape-shifting can keep the look of betrayal off out of his eyes.
Eli and Kate are only God knows where with the Secret Avengers, and Cassie knows that neither of them will risk capture to contact her. And the last time Tommy was spotted, he was somewhere in Brazil.
The only one that still talks to her is Vision, and Tony keeps him so busy that she hardly ever gets to see him.
And she knows with a cold, hard certainty that they aren’t coming to save her from the Puppet Master. Not the cold, angry Billy, not the betrayed Teddy, not hidden Eli, Kate, and Tommy.
Maybe Vision, if Tony will let him.
She’d cry, if she could.
