Noa traced the outline of the strange scars on Zed’s arm, keeping an eye on the white haired boy to see if he was still sleeping. He pushed his glasses up his nose as shifted his position until the back brace was less painful. Zed didn’t stir.
They weren’t really scars. It was more like the golden eye’d boy’s skin had grown up over something. Zed sighed, his head rolling to one side as it rested against Noa’s thigh. The dark haired boy ran a hand over Zed’s hair, then pushed his own away from his face as he continued his vigil.
