Sarah Vale couldn’t remember the last time things were truly quiet for her. Not since she’d used the Gameboy to control Mom’s car.
That was about the time that they started talking to her. The cell phones, the PDAs, the computers, the alarm systems… everything that could talk to her. An unending streak of chatter 24/7.
She’d thought it would drive her mad until the day Headmistress Frost brought her to Sage’s lair. That was where she was taught to block out the chatter. Not all of it… never all of it. It was never wise to totally block a sense, after all.
