Wow, this is a different flavour from the usual fics I tend to read from you. I really liked this! (And as usual, the amount of research you put in makes the fic shine. :P) Since I'm not at all familiar with the history of southeast asia, I've learned something new here as well. HA!

I quite enjoyed your OC Malaya and I felt that you've done a great job writing about her relationship with Turkey (they're so sweet towards each other. Awwwww.) As usual, I like the way how you managed to blend the historical events with the characters' personal relationship so smoothly. I felt that the fic is nicely balanced - the characters are well-defined, the fluffy moments serve as a nice backdrop to the history (and vice-versa), and the story itself has an original topic that you don't see explored in hetalia fanfics a lot. :Db

I'll admit that I haven't given Turkey much thought at all, mainly because I know close to nothing about that region, but this fic definitely piqued my curiosity. Hmmm...

This, admittedly, was very little by way of research on my end, since I grew up with all this. XD

But yes! Considering the fact that Islam spread of its own accord in Southeast Asia (and the current relationship between the Muslim countries), it seemed appropriate for them to be sweet to each other (also in my head they have a very, ahem, beneficial and cordial relationship in the present day, and all my euphemisms point to sex. Their relationship is kind of like Prussia and Germany, only they have always been far apart and see each other very rarely - only moving into modern times do they meet more often, and this is after she grows older and is no longer jail bait). This is also in keeping with the fact that the Ottoman Empire had such a vast net over a great number of countries during the Golden Age of Islam, be it through occupation or through cross-cultural means (again, the Malay language has an insane amount of Arabic in it).
