It's crazy how scrambled the eps were. Like Firefly years before, Fox doesn't care about the progression of the arcs or anything resembling character building.

It's so true. I was talking to someone I know who works adjacent to the industry, and she told me that her impression is that there are lots of TV execs who honestly do not care about plot arcs, character building, etc. They have a much more purely-financial focus on eyeballs-on-the-screen, so for instance that's most likely why the sexbot episode was moved up to run second--just thinking, you know, 'SEXBOTS. YOUNG MALES LOVE SEXBOTS AND WE WANT YOUNG MALES WATCHING THE SHOW'.

Now, why the other episodes were also scrambled around, besides the sexbots? I'd be really interested to see the internal Fox emails about it, because I honestly have noooo idea.

I have to admit that I liked the sexbot ep because I think it gave Dorian alot of emotional and character growth, but I would have liked it even better if it had been in chronological order.

Thank you! It made the viewing so very disjointed, not helped with pauses between episodes, too.

Very welcome!

I visited a friend after I think episode 6 (in airing order), and we rewatched the half-season so far in proper order as much as we could (though we were still missing some very early eps), and it already helped a lot in terms of emotional flow and making characterization sense--and that's mostly what I watch it for, the characterization and emotions. It made me shake my fists at Fox twice as vigorously...I mean, why force me to work so hard just to try to undo their bad patchwork?

At least the end of the season was finally in order, but that was a long time to wait.
