I wish I was strong enough to confront more people about using oppressive language. So kudos to you for doing something I'm not brave enough to do!

Well, it's really gosh-darn hard! I've only just started to be able to do it, and even then sometimes I just sit by quietly, mostly when it's family doing it. It is hard hard hard.

But, important. And I'm glad I've started doing it. On the other hand, I'm not going to jump down anyone's throat for having difficulty doing so, 'cause I've been there!

I totally admire you too for taking a strong stance on this. I always feel uncomfortable when people describe something they don't like as 'gay', this happens a LOT in New Zealand. It can be hard to speak up, especially when some words are so established and some people don't even register that anything's happened and conversation moves so fast and all those stupid social reasons why people keep quiet. But I've spoken up about it during an email conversation before which is a start I guess :)
