Well, making up people and their quotes is a gargantuan no-no and depending on the newspaper and its publisher, such an one would undoubtedly be fired immediately. *lol* Perhaps this Mimi Albadie does exist....'tis possible! So you don't remember some all-too-eager middle-aged man coming up to you and asking questions?!

haha. Mimi! Ok, as a journalist, misspelling names is not tolerated at all. I mean, in our classes, if we misspell someone's name, our grade is automatically deducted like 2 letter grades. It's one of the worst screw ups in the professional world, because it sets the news organization up for potential libel. And gosh, fictionalization is definitely a no-no. Don't even get me started on Janet Cooke and Jayson Blair. Yikes.

That is bizarre... Mimi, you should definitely contact The Commercial Appeal about it and tell them they need to publish a correction or you are going to sue them for libel (printing false information about you). Or, you could just tell them you're going to sue. That might work better.
