Meteor Rain and some Jerry Yan pics

Dec 22, 2006 15:33

In my HYD/MG fever, I have been watching Dao Ming Si’s part of Meteor Rain. (I’ve seen the other two parts a while back but never got around to DMS’ story because it was so freaking long: 2 hours!)

I am about halfway in and am pleased to note I am enjoying myself.

More specifically, the following things amuse me:

Not really spoilery but cut for length )

. japan:dorama:hana yori dango, - jdrama, - twdrama, meteor rain, actor:jerry yan, *pics, meteor garden

So, is Meteor Rain new material, or a "highlights" type thing?

It's new stuff.

Meteor Rain is sort of an outtakes sort of thing. Sort of like some background stories for the characters. To explain: it's basically three separate stories: DMS' (which is set 2-3 years prior to MG and basically a continuation of something that MG mentions happened years ago when DMS almost killed a guy. That ep sort of goes into what happened afterwards). Mei Zuo's is this cute fluffy thing set during MG but you don't need it for the story at all, it's extraneous.

You actually don't need either DMS or MZ stories to get a complete picture. It's cool if you are an F4 fan (guilty) but not necessary for the story. But the reason I got it is Xi Men's story which is set after the end of MG, is a storyline directly from the manga and, most importantly, deals more with my secondary ship Xi Men/Xiao You (Soujiro/Yuki from manga).

Aww, lovely pictures! Thank you! He still has the best smile. I keep checking "The Hospital"/"white Tower", but no subtitles yet.

DMS’ hair is that nice layered cut from the later part of MG, and not the horrifying manga hair of the first few eps (which he supposedly couldn’t do anything about!).

I thought it was supposed to be "the gravity defying power of love". :P

Or maybe his hair prophetically stood on end because it realized how much angst its owner would undergo shortly?

And yeah, love the smile.
