Vid: Uncommon (remastered + revised) (Star Trek XI)

I posted a vid about a month ago, and shortly thereafter it was pointed out to me that there's much better source available out there nowadays (you know, six months down the line). So, I present the remastered version of Uncommon: now with 75% more eyebrows!*

Oh man, the remaster looks beautiful. Looks to me like you made a couple revisions as well, yes? As You Know, Bob, I already thought the original cut was excellent, but the editing on the bridge fight looks even cleaner now; ditto the final chorus. I feel like the power of the narrative grew in general, maybe just from the literally fuller picture.

And the better source REALLY MAKES "watching roaches climb the wall". :D :D :D

Yeah, I did get to tweak a couple of sequences I wasn't really happy with before; the bridge sequence had so many bits in the bootleg source where you were missing half of Spock or Kirk's face that it was really hard to build a satisfying emotional narrative. As *you* know, Bob, eyebrows are important!
There were also some action shots where the opposite was true, and I got to recut things more neatly now that you can see the action at the very edges of the shot. It was pretty much like getting twice as much source to work with (which would have been overwhelming the first time through, but was really a treat with the shape of the vid already in place).

The better source was GREAT for all the Delta Vega bits. I'm extremely pleased that I got to work in Kirk rolling down the hill. Because I'm mean, I guess. :D
