So, in the absence of any thoughts on tonight's Doctor Who episode (I'm waiting until I've seen it a second time, and without a toddler distracting me, to gather my thoughts), I am offering two things about "The Eleventh Hour" that came to mind after posting my review ( Read more... )

omg she has so much hair! She looks almost properly a kid (instead of a baby)!

That is a good category, for those unsettling people that you can't totally love, or totally write off.

Yeah, I have to put her hair up in pigtails every day or it falls in her face and gets a ton of food in it. It's hard to think of her as not even 2, she's all long legs and almost-complete sentences and wanting to use the potty. :/

The DTC developed right after they cast Thewlis in HP; I kept seeing pictures in which he was superhot right next to pictures where he looked like a park-bench creepster. It was surreal.

(Also, having revisited some of the pictures the BBC released after announcing Smith, I realise that he got a much better haircut. That helps a lot.)

Sorry, man. When looking at Uma T, half the time I'm thinking "my God, she's gorgeous", and half the time "er, yikes". She's very striking (especially compared to the cookie-cutter "hotties" of Hollywood) and I give her mad props for that, but sometimes it just doesn't work for me.

is flat-out channeling Sarah Chalke in "Scrubs"

omg THAT is who she keeps reminding me of! It's been bugging me since I first watched the episode, but I couldn't figure out who I was thinking of, other than someone else on some other tv show. But YES that is so, so right.

The David Thewlis Conundrum - I'll be using this phrase in the future!

awww adorable kid! But how does one get in/out of that contraption she's in???

I think the only reason I made the connection is the many, many hours I spent with my S1&2 Scrubs DVDs!

As for her contraption, it's a combination desk/rocking horse/high chair, and she's learned to climb out over the back pretty easily.
