Hufflepuff?

HUFFLEPUFF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

How DARE any sister of mine be Sorted into Hufflepuff!  No Nott in the HISTORY OF OUR FAMILY has ever been Sorted into Hufflepuff!  This is a DISGRACE to my family name, and to generations of Notts that came before me!  It is an INSULT to my intelligence and to my heritage.

I SPIT ON YOU, HUFFLEPUFF.

I heard Daddy reacted in almost the same way when he found out my sister and I were Sorted into Slytherin -- And there's that other story about when my Great-Great-Uncle Anthony joined the air force and --

My father is a Hufflepuff.

Your father is also a raging alcoholic with -

Yes, dear, I know. And it's lovely for him, but the place has gone terribly down hill these days, I think.

Has it? Daddy said that everyone said the same thing about Hufflepuff back in the day and you know he's hardly a pushover. I don't need more of this sort of thing after a shitty first day of term yesterday.

Well, no, your father isn't a pushover. But Winifred Wood is in Hufflepuff. And Coriander Bulstrode. Edward, they'll be corrupting her and I won't be able to look after her. And she looks so unfortunate in yellow.

I wouldn't have expected better from a Slytherin with Death Eaters in the family.

Why would your sister being in Hufflepuff be an insult against your intelligence?

We are of the same family. It implies that I must be - Hufflepuffy.

I thought you said she wasn't your sister, so wouldn't that make you not of the same family anymore anyway?

No one could ever mistake you for a Hufflepuff. That is not a compliment, by the way.

Is that really spit? Perhaps you should breathe.

There's nothing wrong with Hufflepuff! That just means that your sister is NICE and LOYAL!

As long as you don't spit on anyone in particular, spitting in Hufflepuff really wouldn't do that much. A rug or someone's sock would soak the spit up.
