OH MY GOD, TOO EXCITING! (Actually, I kind of wonder - if this is actually happening, will they include Double Falsehood?)

Oh no, I quite like it. ;)

Doesn't it, though? I feel like ALL the comedies could be improved through crossdressing. Some of the tragedies, too. XD

I AGREE WITH YOUR SENTIMENTS

Shakesqueer. SHAKESQUEER. WHY DO YOU KEEP POSTING ABOUT BOOKS WHICH I THEN REALISE I NEED IN MY LIFE? I WILL BLAME YOU WHEN I GO BANKRUPT.

And yeah, I remember a coupla years ago an article in the paper about a new complete works... I don't know what's happening with that, but I'm keeping my fingers SO TIGHTLY CROSSED.
And I so want to read that Contested Will book. There's been some really good reviews of it over here. XD

I'M SORRY! IF YOU ARE FORCED TO SELL YOUR HOUSE I WILL LET YOU MOVE IN WITH ME. JUST GIVE ME ALL YOUR BOOKS IN RETURN. XD

(I do plan to share the Caesar essay from that book, after it comes out which could be in a while, and the queer-theory-lens essay from that book of Caesar essays, with the unkindestslash comm in some way, shape, or form. So you got that covered, at least. :D)

OMG SERIOUSLY. CUTTING OFF THE CIRCULATION IN MY FINGERS. (guh, BBC, why is your 'contact us' section so confusingly laid out?)

If you have any interest in literary history at all, DO IT. I mean, it'd be totally interesting even without the Shakespeare part.

Wandering in through friendsfriends to comment:

a) Madhavi Menon is so cool. I want to have her biologically improbable lovechild.

b) OMG that Shakesqueer anthology looks AWESOME, and I am both happy and sad that it will not come out before I defend my dissertation (which has a long rant about how people who write queer treatments of Shakespeare never deal with Richard II except to dismiss it).

c) I really liked your ides_of_april fic.

d) I have no idea whether the BBC Complete Works remake is still in production or if the economy hasn't killed it, but I have heard precisely nothing about it since that article came out.

e) Have some young and beautiful Gielgud:

Shall we just make that "friends"? We seem to have a lot of interests in common. :D

a. Argh, yes. Had you heard of her before? Because I hadn't, but now I'm thinking I really need to read her other works.

b. Srsly, doesn't it? (And I honestly can't imagine why - I've only just read the first act but they are ALL over each other.)

c. Thank you! :D

d. Ooh, damn, economy... forgot about that factor. Well, I've sent an enquiry through the BBC website, so we'll see.

e. I see your young and beautiful Gielgid, and raise you... more young and beautiful Gielgud!

Sure! Nice to meet you!

a) I had indeed -- in fact, I've met her, which was pretty awesome. She wrote a really good article on Richard II which later became part of her book Wanton Words.

b) Everybody in that play totally wants to jump each other's bones. However, since Bolingbroke mentions it explicitly at one point (you will get to it in act three) and he admittedly has something of an agenda, it is assumed that it is clearly not true. (My own take is rather more complicated.)

e) Oh man, that picture is beautiful!

(You have MULTIPLE GIELGUD ICONS. I think I love you.)

b. Oh, Histories, you and your sneaky politics...! I'll be sure to talk to you once I've finished reading it.

e. Isn't it! And I love sharing, so have more Romeo!Gielgud:
