I really like the quiet beauty of this. From the first line, I was caught up in it.

The beach was covered in a thin layer of shells and seaweed. These gifts from the sea held open invitations to people’s hands and pockets. Three or four seagulls walked along the shoreline, picking at the prizes that didn’t RSVP in time.

I read that about ten times.

Patrick screamed as Pete laughed like a terrorizing ten year old.

That's such a great image, I love it.

I thought that stretch of beach looked familiar, but assumed I was being crazy until I got to the end. Point Pleasant Beach! I've spent so much time walking the beach and the boardwalk. Lovely story and beautiful beach shot.
