I'm really glad things are less grim than they seemed to be this morning. I hope your dad's road to recovery is smooth and that you can find a couple of islands of calm in the next few days.

Oh my god, Donna, that's so scary! *hugs* I'm thinking good, healing thoughts for your father. Sounds like it'll be a rough recovery, but at least he's alive and the prognosis seems reasonably good, considering the extent of his injuries.

The cell phone...I'm guessing that your mom and sister are just channeling their nervous energy toward something that they can affect. However, they really don't need to worry about the phone THAT much. It's just a phone. It's replaceable. If they can't find it, all the company needs to do is call the phone service provider and report it lost. It's as simple as that. Still, if it keeps their minds off worrying, it can't hurt for them to focus on that instead of on their fears.

Glad things are better, and will keep my fingers crossed about the neck.

I think it's wonderful you were able to be there for your sister and mother too, I hope that you can find some time/way to destress from it too. You're welcome to come use our hot tub, any time, or if there's anything else we can do let me know.

I'm so sorry to hear about the accident, but glad that your father is conscious and coherent. I'm sure it must be very hard on all of you. My best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Regarding school stuff, speaking as a teacher myself, I think it's perfectly reasonable for you to ask for extensions on some of your assignments, or at least let your professors know what's going on so they can cut you some slack if they're so inclined (I would be!). Even if not, please try to go a bit easy on yourself for a while.

I agree with bookly. Let your professors know and see if they can help with extensions and such. Remember that it's only school and that life comes first. School will understand and cope.

In hebrew you wish someone a complete recovery, a r'fuah, sh'lemah. I hope your father recovers completely from his injuries. If we can help in any way please let us know.
