Learning to accept my imperfections.  Maybe it is because I'm getting way up there in my age! I'm really learning to love myself and accept that I might not be pefect in other people's eyes, but I am pefect because I am who I am.  I didn't realise that I could be so negative to myself about my looks. My body type is not the usual, waif, or petite

It's funny. Like you said, onece you hit a certain age you start to contemplate and rething things. I'm following your lead on the positivity.

It's great you are not so hard on yourself Donna. Face it. You are a black woman, and no matter how hard you try, your genes will never allow you to be waif, or any other ridiculously thin white girl persona.

I personally love your avatar. It is very attractive, and what makes it so captivating, is the obvious satisfaction, the utter "I look beautiful" vibe coming from it.

Maybe its corny, but no matter the weight. If a woman takes care of herself, and acts like she's beautiful..confident but not in your face, that is the type of woman I think is beautiful.

Of course I'm not a man.....and women can sometimes be too supportive of "be who you are" which leads to well...for instance, someone tells Rosie O that she's beautiful....probably only female friends and lovers....and I find her to be one of the most unattractive women I've ever seen.

Go figure.

Anyway, great photo, very pretty. Your outside def reflects your inner beauty.

Thx Tonya! You know, I was never ever skinny and I won't be any time soon! I will continue to work on the positivity of myself in all areas! Rosie used to take care of herself, but ever since she 'came out' it is like she has to be unkempt to be butch, or something....I'm not a fan of hers anymore because of her 'politics'.

Don't worry so much about perfection Donna! I think there was some Russian Admiral once-upon-a-time that said "perfect is the enemy of good enough." Besides -what *is* "perfect" anyway?

Thx Roy, so sweet of you to say as well! I don't know, perfection is what we all seem to want because we never seem to be happy with who we are or what we have. This was me once, now I'm learning to accept myself, who I am and what I have done without judgment. With age comes wisdom!
