What I learned from being a BL/yaoi fan

Jul 07, 2011 10:43

There are several things I learned from being a BL/yaoi fan. I realized them yesterday as I was waiting for my triple patty hamburger and extra large fries to arrive (I was really hungry) and I couldn't help but snort into my root beer float the whole time I was eating.  Anyway, on with the lessons.

Lessons learned )

rurouni kenshin, sekaiichi hatsukoi, junjou romantica, manga, boy's love, yoneda kou, yaoi

Can I just say that you have pointed out everything about what I feel about yaoi??

My first manga was a shoujo one, and for awhile I only read shoujo, until........I discovered perfect, sexy, sad and lovable world that is the BL world. It doesn't matter if it is in high school, university or a office romance, they are always a million times better that shoujo manga in those genres!! (I still read shoujo, but my heart has already been stolen by the God that is Yaoi)

I don't remember anymore which manga was my first yaoi, but I do remember when I watched my first yaoi anime, that was Junjou, the best anime ever!!!

ps: Why was I so melodramatic in this post? o.O

I get melodramatic as well. Sometimes, I just can't help it.

The one manga/anime that is my all-time favorite would have to be Rurouni Kenshin and Keshin/Kaoru pairing. Everything else is yaoi/BL for me.

I read your lessons learned. I'm in the same boat with you on no 2 to 4. I don't know how long you when you started walking into the inescapable world of BL, but still I'd like to say welcome!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm fairly a recent 'convert'. You're so right, the world of BL is inescapable. Resistance is futile. :)

It's hard for me because I don't have friends outside the online community who I can talk to about these things. Oh, well.
