Ahhh I saw it was a work of the Junjou author and I have it saved as 'planned to read' in my manga app. Knowing it is sad..... :( Glad to hear they'll do some sort of animated project for it though. Can't wait to see it, after I read the manga of course.
I'm glad that you like my recommendation. Kuroda-Tsukishima is my favourite Nakamura story so I'm happy to see it animated (tbh, the first two stories are OK - I don't even remember their details well - but that third one makes me buy the book). I think that's Nakamura at her best. I could guess that something bad would happen but the impact was still strong when I actually got to the tragedy. The parallel and repetition hammer the emotions very effectively ("one and one plus one" and of course the sakura branch).
When I clicked on your link, I honestly didn't know what HC was about.
That sakura branch killed me and the look on Kuroda's face. I agree, it's the third story that makes it so memorable. The first two were all right but did not make a lasting impression on me.

They were so sad, and of course, the last one!
And maybe, just maybe cried even more with the extra!
I re-read this manga when I need to cry, and the tears won't come.
And really!! I'm no masochist, just into in some really sad stories ˆˆ''
Even though you wont re-read it, you will watch the animation, right?
There is going to be an OVA or series of Hybrid Child *-*
ps: I love you too!!!
