Ooo, the Shin Megami Tensei series is awesome in general, although individual games vary. My favorites are Nocturne, which is probably hard to find by now, and the Persona sub-series/spinoff in general, although the first two are dated by now, and the third and fourth are even better, at least to me. They add a sort of school-sim and social-sim type thing into it that sounds odd, but works.
Games-wise, that SMT game and Sakura Wars are the ones I'm mostly thinking of that are coming out soon that I want. Now that FFXIII and DA:OA have both hit. Somewhat waiting for Atelier Rorona which hits in Q2 supposedly. Can't think of any others offhand!
Pfft, I think the last film I saw in a theater was Sherlock Holmes. (Unless the Battlestar Galactica / Last Unicorn at the festival was after that, but I don't think so.) Anyway, my own comments on things you mentioned
( ... )
I reviewed Strange Journey, which is quite good. And also entirely edited by our boy Nich. It's the dungeon-crawling of Etrian Odyssey mashed up with the demon-summoning system from Megami Tensei and served on a platter of really whacked-out art direction. Not quite as unforgiving as the Etrian games, but still pretty challenging.
